The padrón is the register of everyone who lives in a municipality, and empadronamiento is getting your family onto it. It is not a visa or a residency permit. It is Spain's proof of where you actually live.
Why it matters
School applications, healthcare, residency paperwork and much of everyday admin all ask for it. Until it is done, a surprising amount cannot start.
It looks like a formality. It is the quietest bottleneck in a family's first month.
Why it holds so much up
The rules are set locally and they change, it runs in Spanish, and a small mismatch can mean coming back and starting again. Because so much waits on it, a delay here rarely stays small.
Where we come in
School & Home Pathfinder and Premier Executive include it, and anyone else can add it on. Getting it right the first time, so it costs you days rather than weeks, is the part we do with each family.
